The Holy Quran 22:52 — Surah Al-Hajj

Arabic text

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ وَلَا نَبِىٍّ إِلَّآ إِذَا تَمَنَّىٰٓ أَلْقَى ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ فِىٓ أُمْنِيَّتِهِۦ فَيَنسَخُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يُلْقِى ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ ثُمَّ يُحْكِمُ ٱللَّهُ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

Translation

It occurred to every Rasool and Nabi whom we sent before you (Rasulullaah ﷺ) that whenever he recited (the divine scripture), Shaytaan cast doubts (and objections) in (the hearts of listeners with regard to) his recitation. (The Shayaateen and their allies from the human race never accept Islaam, nor do they wish others to do so. They therefore continue to sow the seeds of doubt in the hearts of others). However, Allaah (blots out) eradicates the doubts that Shaytaan casts (mixes into peoples' hearts) and then consolidates (confirms) His verses (by making people understand them clearly). Allaah is All Knowing, The Wise.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وما أرسلنا من قبلك - أيها الرسول - من رسول ولا نبي إلا إذا قرأ كتاب الله ألقى الشيطان في قراءته الوساوس والشبهات؛ ليصدَّ الناس عن اتباع ما يقرؤه ويتلوه، لكن الله يبطل كيد الشيطان، فيزيل وساوسه، ويثبت آياته الواضحات. والله عليم بما كان ويكون، لا تخفى عليه خافية، حكيم في تقديره وأمره.
