The Holy Quran 20:88 — Surah Taha

Arabic text

فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌ فَقَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَآ إِلَـٰهُكُمْ وَإِلَـٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِىَ

Translation

So he (Saamiri) made for them a calf that was a body which made the sounds of a cow. They (those who worshipped the calf) said (to the others), "This is your Rabb and the Rabb of Moosa, but he (Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام) has forgotten (that his Rabb is here and has gone to the mountain to look for it)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فصنع السامري لبني إسرائيل من الذهب عجلا جسدًا يخور خوار البقر، فقال المفتونون به منهم للآخرين: هذا هو إلهكم وإله موسى، نسيه وغَفَل عنه.
