The Holy Quran 20:58 — Surah Taha

Arabic text

فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّكَ بِسِحْرٍ مِّثْلِهِۦ فَٱجْعَلْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَّا نُخْلِفُهُۥ نَحْنُ وَلَآ أَنتَ مَكَانًا سُوًى

Translation

(Intending to host a contest between Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام and all the accomplished magicians of Egypt, Fir'oun said to Moosa عليه الصلاة والسلام) "So (in reply to your feats) we will certainly present the same kind of magic before you, so arrange an appointment between us that neither us nor you will violate. Fix an open plain for this (contest so that people may witness it)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فسوف نأتيك بسحر مثل سحرك، فاجعل بيننا وبينك موعدًا محددًا، لا نخلفه نحن ولا تخلفه أنت، في مكان مستوٍ معتدل بيننا وبينك.
