The Holy Quran 19:58 — Surah Maryam

Arabic text

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩

Translation

These (Ambiyaa mentioned above from Zakariyya until Idrees are the ones whom Allaah has favoured from the progeny of Aadam and from the progeny of those whom We carried with Nooh (on the ark). And (some of them such as Ismaa'eel and Is'haaq were) from the progeny of Ibraheem and (others like Moosa Haaroon, Zakariyya and Isa were from the progeny of) Israa'eel (Yaqoob) and (others were from the progeny of those whom We guided and selected. When the Aayaat of their Rabb are recited, they fall down weeping in prostration. (It is therefore befitting of anyone who reveres them to behave in the same manner,) (One who recites or hears this verse being recited should perform Sajdah)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

هؤلاء الذين قصصتُ عليك خبرهم أيها الرسول، هم الذين أنعم الله عليهم بفضله وتوفيقه، فجعلهم أنبياء من ذرية آدم، ومِن ذرية مَن حملنا مع نوح في السفينة، ومن ذرية إبراهيم، ومن ذرية يعقوب، وممَّن هدينا للإيمان واصطفينا للرسالة والنبُوَّة، إذا تتلى عليهم آيات الرحمن المتضمنة لتوحيده وحججه خرُّوا ساجدين لله خضوعًا، واستكانة، وبكَوْا من خشيته سبحانه وتعالى.
