The Holy Quran 17:55 — Surah Al-Isra

Arabic text

وَرَبُّكَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَلَقَدْ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۖ وَءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ زَبُورًا

Translation

Your Rabb knows best who is in the heavens and the earth (and therefore knows best who deserves what). (In accordance with this knowledge,) We have favoured some Ambiyaa above others (knowing who deserves what honour. Consequently, We made Ibraheem عليه الصلاة والسلام Our friend, Muhammad ﷺ the best and most beloved) and granted Dawood عليه الصلاة والسلام the Zaboor.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وربك -أيها الرسول- أعلم بمَن في السموات والأرض. ولقد فَضَّلْنا بعض النبيين على بعض بالفضائل وكثرة الأتباع وإنزال الكتب، وأعطينا داود عليه السلام الزبور.
