The Holy Quran 17:35 — Surah Al-Isra

Arabic text

وَأَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ إِذَا كِلْتُمْ وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا

Translation

Measure in full when you measure (goods for people) and weigh with proper scales (so that others are not cheated). This is best and better in the final outcome (because it leads to mutual trust and rules out disputes).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وأتموا الكيل، ولا تنقصوه إذا كِلْتم لغيركم، وزِنوا بالميزان السوي، إن العدل في الكيل والوزن خير لكم في الدنيا، وأحسن عاقبة عند الله في الآخرة.
