The Holy Quran 14:12 — Surah Ibrahim

Arabic text

وَمَا لَنَآ أَلَّا نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَىٰنَا سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَىٰ مَآ ءَاذَيْتُمُونَا ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ

Translation

"Why should we not rely (only) on Allaah when He has guided us to our paths (He has shown us the ways in which we can prosper and benefit. Therefore, we owe everything we have to Him and we will continue to trust in Him)? We shall definitely exercise patience through the difficulties that you cause us. Only in Allaah should those who have trust place (all) their trust.”

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وكيف لا نعتمد على الله، وهو الذي أرشدنا إلى طريق النجاة من عذابه باتباع أحكام دينه؟ ولنصبرنَّ على إيذائكم لنا بالكلام السيئ وغيره، وعلى الله وحده يجب أن يعتمد المؤمنون في نصرهم، وهزيمة أعدائهم.
