The Holy Quran 12:82 — Surah Yusuf

Arabic text

وَسْـَٔلِ ٱلْقَرْيَةَ ٱلَّتِى كُنَّا فِيهَا وَٱلْعِيرَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَقْبَلْنَا فِيهَا ۖ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ

Translation

"(To confirm what we are telling you) You may ask the (people of the) town (Egypt) in which we were and the (people of the) caravan whom we accompanied back. (They will all testify that) We are really truthful."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولما رجعوا وأخبروا أباهم بما حدث، وطلبوا منه أن يتوثق مما أخبروه قائلين: واسأل -يا أبانا- أهل «مصر» ، ومَن كان معنا في القافلة التي كنا فيها، وإنا صادقون فيما أخبرناك به.
