The Holy Quran 12:14 — Surah Yusuf

Arabic text

قَالُوا۟ لَئِنْ أَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ إِنَّآ إِذًا لَّخَـٰسِرُونَ

Translation

They replied, "If a wolf should eat him up while we are a strong group (there to protect him), then surely we would be losers (it is not possible for a wolf to eat him while we are all there with him)." (Unable to refuse, Ya'qoob عليه الصلاة والسلام permitted them to take Yusuf عليه الصلاة والسلام along with them.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قال إخوة يوسف لوالدهم: لئن أكله الذئب، ونحن جماعة قوية إنا إذًا لخاسرون، لا خير فينا، ولا نفع يُرْجَى منا.
