The Holy Quran 10:29 — Surah Yunus

Arabic text

فَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًۢا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ إِن كُنَّا عَنْ عِبَادَتِكُمْ لَغَـٰفِلِينَ

Translation

(Given the power of speech, their gods will say further,) "Allaah suffices as Witness between us and you. The fact of the matter is that we were unaware of your worship." (By worshipping us, you were pleasing only the Shayaateen and doing us no good at all.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فكفى بالله شهيدًا بيننا وبينكم، إننا لم نكن نعلم ما كنتم تقولون وتفعلون، ولقد كنَّا عن عبادتكم إيانا غافلين، لا نشعر بها.
