The Holy Quran 10:27 — Surah Yunus

Arabic text

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَسَبُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ جَزَآءُ سَيِّئَةٍۭ بِمِثْلِهَا وَتَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۖ مَّا لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٍ ۖ كَأَنَّمَآ أُغْشِيَتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ قِطَعًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مُظْلِمًا ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ

Translation

As for those who earn evil acts, the punishment for evil will be the like of it (not more) and their faces will be covered in disgrace. There shall be no protector for them from (the punishment of) Allaah. (Their faces will be so gloomy that) It will be as if their faces are covered by a part of an extremely dark night. These are the inhabitants of the Fire, in which they shall live forever (Jahannam is eternal).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

والذين عملوا السيئات في الدنيا فكفروا وعصَوا الله لهم جزاء أعمالهم السيئة التي عملوها بمثلها من عقاب الله في الآخرة، وتغشاهم ذلَّة وهوان، وليس لهم مِن عذاب الله مِن مانع يمنعهم إذا عاقبهم، كأنما أُلبست وجوههم أجزاء من سواد الليل المظلم. هؤلاء هم أهل النار ماكثون فيها أبدًا.
