The Holy Quran 10:108 — Surah Yunus

Arabic text

قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَكُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ فَمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِى لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَإِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا ۖ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُم بِوَكِيلٍ

Translation

Say (O Muhammad ﷺ), "O people! Certainly the truth has come to you from your Rabb. So whoever will be guided shall receive guidance only for himself (for his own benefit). (However,) Whoever will go astray shall go astray only to his own detriment (because he will have to suffer the consequences of his ill choice). I am not a guardian over you (I am not answerable for what you do)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قل -أيها الرسول- لهؤلاء الناس: قد جاءكم رسول الله بالقرآن الذي فيه بيان هدايتكم، فمن اهتدى بهدي الله فإنما ثمرة عمله راجعة إليه، ومن انحرف عن الحق وأصرَّ على الضلال فإنما ضلاله وضرره على نفسه، وما أنا موكَّل بكم حتى تكونوا مؤمنين، إنما أنا رسول مبلِّغ أبلِّغكم ما أُرْسِلْت به.
