What should the wife of a dayyuth do

Question

Question: What does the Shari‘a say about a man whose wife meets a stranger and constantly obtains shoes, clothes and food items from him by asking for them, while her husband is not opposed to this, but himself also eats and drinks from his wife? Is it permissible to separate his wife from him and marry her elsewhere or not, given that his wife too is against this conduct of his?

Answer

Such a man is, according to the Shari‘a, a dayyuth (one without jealousy for the honour of his family). It is also by no means permissible for the woman according to the Shari‘a to obey her husband in an impermissible act. The influential people of the biradari (a kinship or caste community) should restrain him from this conduct in whatever way possible.
