The method of praying by gestures
Question
(1) How should a person pray who has had an operation, is lying on a bed and has been forbidden by the doctor to move? (2) If a patient is being given glucose [by drip], how can he perform the prayer in that state, or may he leave the prayer for qada'?
Answer
(1) He should pray by gestures of the head in such a way that no part of the body moves: only for ruku' and sajda should he gesture with the head. (2) He should perform the prayer in that same state.
