Someone Else Praying on the Imam’s Prayer-Place (Musalla)

Question

Sometimes, when someone else leads the prayer, he leaves the musalla (the imam’s prayer-place/mat) after praying the fard. What is [the ruling on] praying the sunna and the like on the imam’s musalla?

Answer

If after the congregation the imam has left the musalla and someone else wishes to pray the sunna there, it is permitted, if the imam finds it displeasing (?).
