Taking milk from an indebted Hindu
Question
Question: Is it permissible to buy milk from Hindus or not, when the Hindu is a debtor and also gives more, and the money is also recovered?
Answer
There are two matters here: first, that the seller is a Hindu; second, that the seller is a debtor and, for this reason, gives more. Regarding the first: as long as its impurity is not known, buying it is permissible, and after the impurity becomes known it is impermissible. Regarding the second: this excess has the ruling of interest (riba).
