Taking Part in Politics

Question

Question: According to Islamic principles, can we Muslims also take part in the politics of this India or not?

Answer

If taking part in it does not create an obstacle for you in acting upon the injunctions of Islam, and by taking part you are able to serve the Muslims (ahl al-Islam), protect them from injustice and secure their rights for them, then you may take part.
