Reliability of Hadith Books Beyond the Sihah

Question

Apart from the Sihah (the six canonical hadith collections), are other hadith books — such as [the works of] al-Bayhaqi, al-Darimi, al-Tabarani, al-Tahawi and the like — valuable and reliable books or not? Also, what is the ruling on regarding only the hadith of the Sihah books as hadith, and not regarding the hadith of other books as hadith?

Answer

Besides the Sihah Sitta (the six [canonical] books), other hadith books — [the works of] al-Bayhaqi, al-Tabarani, al-Tahawi, al-Darimi, al-Daraqutni, al-Muwatta and the like — are also valuable books; not regarding their hadith as hadith is ignorance and misguidance.
