Stipulating with a present that it will not be given to anyone

Question: If someone gives a present (hadiyya) and imposes the restriction that it may not be given to anyone else, is it proper to accept a present in this way?

Answer

Accepting the present is proper, but one should not affirm the restriction; rather, one should refuse to accept it, so that he does not remain under a misapprehension.
