Going About Bareheaded
Question
What is the ruling on men remaining bareheaded, and is this act permissible (ja’iz) for men according to the Shariʿa or impermissible?
Answer
At a time of need there is no harm in being bareheaded; but the practice now coming into vogue — going about bareheaded at all times with oil put in the hair — is not, in origin, the way of the righteous (sulaha’) and people of decency (ahl al-muruwwa); rather, it is the way of the enemies of God. It is necessary to avoid it.
