Women wearing clips in their hair

Question

A “clip” is an ornament which women fasten in the hair of their heads. Is it permissible to use them or not?

Answer

Fastening a clip in the hair is permissible for women, provided that it is not impure and is not a distinctive mark (shi‘ar) of the kuffar or the fussaq, for the basic rule is permissibility, and the prohibition is on account of the reason mentioned.
