The ḥadīth-isnād of Faqīh al-Ummah Ḥaḍrat Muftī Maḥmūd Ḥasan ﵋ is given in the book as two charts in the form of a family tree. Over both stands the inscription: [ar]شَجَرَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ[/ar] "A goodly tree: its root is firm and its branches are in the sky.
