Liability when a trust is left in a washroom and forgotten

Question

Question: This year, by the blessing of your prayers, I was granted the good fortune of performing hajj to the House of Allah. As I was setting out, a benefactor gave me two thousand rupees and asked me to bring a watch, a blanket and a carpet, and also asked me to perform the sacrifice on behalf of three people. I said, “If your money arrives safely, then, in sha’ Allah, I will bring the requested items back with me.” On reaching Bombay, I set aside from it a sum of 2600 rupees with the intention of depositing it.

Answer

If the trust money was placed in a niche in the washroom while performing ghusl, and after the ghusl one did not remember to pick it up, left it there and came away, and the money was lost, then all of that money must be returned.
