Surah Al-Bayyinah (البينة)

- 98:1
لَمْ يَكُنِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ
The Kuffaar from among the Ahlul Kitaab and the Mushrikeen will not desist (from kufr) until a clear proof comes to them...
- 98:2
رَسُولٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ يَتْلُوا۟ صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةً
...(in the form of) a Rasool from Allaah (Muhammad ﷺ) who recites pure scriptures (the Qur'aan)...
- 98:3
فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ
...in which the subject matter is accurate (straight and true).
- 98:4
وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ
(However, although the Ahlul Kitaab were informed about the coming of Rasulullaah and professed that they would follow him when he arrived,) Those who were given the scripture (the Ahlul Kitaab) divided (into Mu'mineen and Kuffaar) only after the clear sign (Rasulullaah ﷺ) had come to them. (Those who accepted Islaam became Mu'mineen, while the rest were Kuffaar.)
- 98:5
وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ
They had been commanded only to worship Allaah, devoting their Deen (worship) solely (sincerely) to Him and turning away from other religions; (they were also commanded) to perform salaah and to pay zakaah. This (practice of adhering to Towheed and worshipping Allaah Only) is the true Deen (which all the Ambiyaa عليهم الصلاة والسلام taught their people).
- 98:6
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ
Verily the Kuffaar from the Ahlul Kitaab and the Mushrikeen shall live forever in the fire of Jahannam. These are the worst of creation (because they have not fulfilled the purpose of their creation and have rejected the Being Who created them, nurtured them and sees to their every need).
- 98:7
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ
Indeed those who have Imaan and who carry out good deeds are certainly the best of creation.
