Surah Al-Inshirah (الانشراح)
The Relief · Meccan · 8 ayahs · Juz 30
- 94:1
(O Rasulullaah ﷺ!) Did We not expand your chest (breast) for you (by increasing your knowledge and granting you the ability to tolerate the harassment of the Kuffaar)?
- 94:2
And did We not relieve you of your burden...
- 94:3
...that was breaking your back? (Because of his extraordinary piety, Rasulullaah ﷺ regarded the human mistakes that he sometimes made as serious violations. This was naturally very burdensome for him and referred to here as "the burden". By declaring blanket forgiveness for every past and future concern of Rasulullaah ﷺ, Allaah relieved him of this burden of his conscience.)
- 94:4
And We have elevated your mention (the esteem with which people hold you). (Rasulullaah ﷺ's name is mentioned together with Allaah's name in the Kalimah, the Adhaan, the Iqaamah, in sermons and in the introductions of all Islaamic talks and books. When Rasulullaah ﷺ was taken on Mi'raaj, his name was even on the lips of the angels in the heavens. All the previous scriptures contained mention of Rasulullaah ﷺ and all the Ambiyaa عليهم الصلاة والسلام were commanded to inform their people about the coming of Rasulullaah ﷺ. In the Aakhirah, Rasulullaah ﷺ will enjoy the highest position among Allaah's creation when he attains the status of “Maqaam Mahmood" [see verse 79 of Surah 17]. His fame will then be apparent in front of all of Allaah's creation.)
- 94:5
(Always bear in mind that) There is certainly ease (in this world and certainly in the Aakhirah) after every difficulty (of this world).
- 94:6
Without doubt, there is ease after every difficulty.
- 94:7
So when you have completed (with the task of propagating Islaam during the day), then exert yourself (in other forms of Ibaadah during the night)...
