Surah At-Tariq (الطارق)

- 86:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
By (the oath of) the sky and by that which appears by night!
- 86:2
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
How will you know what it is that appears by night?
- 86:3
ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
It is the bright star.
- 86:4
إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
There is no soul without a watcher (an angel) appointed over it (to keep record of all its actions).
- 86:5
فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
(If) Man (doubts the coming of Qiyaamah, he) should think about what he was created from.
- 86:6
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
He was created from spurting water (semen)...
- 86:7
يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
...which emerges from between the backbone (a broad reference to the sexual areas of the man) and the chest (a broad reference to the sexual areas of the woman).
