The Holy Quran 9:64 — Surah At-Tawbah

Arabic text

يَحْذَرُ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَ أَن تُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُورَةٌ تُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ ۚ قُلِ ٱسْتَهْزِءُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا تَحْذَرُونَ

Translation

The hypocrites fear that a Surah (of the Qur'aan) will be revealed against them, informing them (and all the Muslims) of what (hypocrisy and malice) is in their hearts. Tell them, "Mock (as you please) !" Surely Allaah will expose (open) that which you fear most (thereby causing you to be humiliated).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يخاف المنافقون أن تنزل في شأنهم سورة تخبرهم بما يضمرونه في قلوبهم من الكفر، قل لهم -أيها النبي-: استمروا على ما أنتم عليه من الاستهزاء والسخرية، إن الله مخرج حقيقة ما تحذرون.
