The Holy Quran 9:111 — Surah At-Tawbah

۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱشْتَرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ ۚ يُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ ۖ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚ وَمَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَٱسْتَبْشِرُوا۟ بِبَيْعِكُمُ ٱلَّذِى بَايَعْتُم بِهِۦ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Translation

Indeed Allaah has purchased from the Mu'mineen their lives and wealth so that they may have Jannah (in exchange). They fight in Allaah's path (in Jihaad for Allaah's pleasure), killing (their enemies) and being killed. This (promise of Jannah for those who sacrifice their lives and wealth for Allaah's Deen) is Allaah's promise that is binding in the Torah, the Injeel and the Qur'aan. Who (none) fulfils their promise better than Allaah? So rejoice with your bargain that you have made (because Allaah shall grant you much more in exchange for very little). This (to submit to Allaah) is the supreme success.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

إن الله اشترى من المؤمنين أنفسهم بأن لهم في مقابل ذلك الجنة، وما أعد الله فيها من النعيم لبذلهم نفوسهم وأموالهم في جهاد أعدائه لإعلاء كلمته وإظهار دينه، فيَقْتلون ويُقتَلون، وعدًا عليه حقًا في التوراة المنزلة على موسى عليه السلام، والإنجيل المنزل على عيسى عليه السلام، والقرآن المنزل على محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم.
