The Holy Quran 9:103 — Surah At-Tawbah

Arabic text

خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّ صَلَوٰتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَّهُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Translation

(O Rasulullaah) Take charity from their wealth by which you may purify and cleanse them, and pray for them. Indeed your prayer for them is a source of comfort (and peace) for (all of) them (because they know that your du'aa is accepted). Allaah is All Hearing, All Knowing (accepts with mercy and compassion).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

خذ -أيها النبي- من أموال هؤلاء التائبين الذين خلطوا عملا صالحا وآخر سيئا صدقة تطهرهم مِن دنس ذنوبهم، وترفعهم عن منازل المنافقين إلى منازل المخلصين، وادع لهم بالمغفرة لذنوبهم واستغفر لهم منها، إن دعاءك واستغفارك رحمة وطمأنينة لهم. والله سميع لكل دعاء وقول، عليم بأحوال العباد ونياتهم، وسيجازي كلَّ عامل بعمله.
