The Holy Quran 8:40 — Surah Al-Anfal

Arabic text

وَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۚ نِعْمَ ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ ٱلنَّصِيرُ

Translation

(On the other hand) If they turn away (and refuse to accept Islaam), then know that Allaah is your Protecting (Helping) Friend (and will assist you against them). What a terrific (good) Friend and what a terrific (good) Helper!

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإن أعرض هؤلاء المشركون عمَّا دعوتموهم إليه -أيها المؤمنون- من الإيمان بالله ورسوله وترك قتالكم، وأبَوْا إلا الإصرار على الكفر وقتالكم، فأيقِنوا أن الله معينكم وناصركم عليهم. نِعْمَ المعين والناصر لكم ولأوليائه على أعدائكم.
