The Holy Quran 7:86 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا۟ بِكُلِّ صِرَٰطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِهِۦ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا ۚ وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ كُنتُمْ قَلِيلًا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ ۖ وَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

Translation

"Do not sit by every road to threaten (people), to prevent from Allaah's path (from Allaah's Deen) he who has Imaan, seeking (an opportunity to make it seem as if it has) crookedness in it. Remember (the time) when you were few (in number), then Allaah increased you. See what was the (end) result of those who spread corruption (and take a lesson from this)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولا تقعدوا بكل طريق تتوعدون الناس بالقتل، إن لم يعطوكم أموالهم، وتصدُّون عن سبيل الله القويم من صدَّق به عز وجل، وعمل صالحًا، وتبغون سبيل الله أن تكون معوجة، وتميلونها اتباعًا لأهوائكم، وتنفِّرون الناس عن اتباعها.
