The Holy Quran 7:69 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ ۚ وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَزَادَكُمْ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ بَصْۜطَةً ۖ فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

Translation

"Or are you surprised (wandering) that a reminder (advice) from your Rabb has come to you through (by) a man from among you so that he may warn you? Recall the time when He (Allaah) made you successors after the nation of Nooh عليه الصلاة والسلام and increased you considerably in stature (better strength and size). Call to mind the bounties of Allaah so that you may be successful."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وهل أثار عجبكم أن أنزل الله تعالى إليكم ما يذكركم بما فيه الخير لكم، على لسان رجل منكم، تعرفون نسبه وصدقه; ليخوِّفكم بأس الله وعقابه؟ واذكروا نعمة الله عليكم إذ جعلكم تخلفون في الأرض مَن قبلكم من بعد ما أهلك قوم نوح، وزاد في أجسامكم قوة وضخامة، فاذكروا نِعَمَ الله الكثيرة عليكم; رجاء أن تفوزوا الفوز العظيم في الدنيا والآخرة.
