The Holy Quran 7:48 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

وَنَادَىٰٓ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُم بِسِيمَىٰهُمْ قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

Translation

The people of A'raaf will call to many people (of Jahannam) whom they would recognise by their signs (marks) saying, "Your masses (large number of followers and great wealth) and your pride were of no avail to you."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ونادى أهل الأعراف رجالا من قادة الكفار الذين في النار، يعرفونهم بعلامات خاصة تميزهم، قالوا لهم: ما نفعكم ما كنتم تجمعون من الأموال والرجال في الدنيا، وما نفعكم استعلاؤكم عن الإيمان بالله وقَبول الحق.
