The Holy Quran 7:134 — Surah Al-A'raf

Arabic text

وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّجْزُ قَالُوا۟ يَـٰمُوسَى ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ ۖ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا ٱلرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Translation

Whenever a punishment afflicted (came to) them they said, "O Moosa! Pray for us to your Rabb by the pledge that He had made with you (the pledge that He would remove the punishment if we accepted Imaan). We swear that if you remove the punishment from us, we would certainly believe (totally) in you and send the Bani Israa'eel with you."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولما نزل العذاب على فرعون وقومه فزعوا إلى موسى وقالوا: يا موسى ادع لنا ربك بما أوحى به إليك مِن رَفْع العذاب بالتوبة، لئن رفعت عنا العذاب الذي نحن فيه لنصدِّقنَّ بما جئت به، ونتبع ما دعوت إليه، ولنطلقنَّ معك بني إسرائيل، فلا نمنعهم من أن يذهبوا حيث شاؤوا.
