The Holy Quran 6:81 — Surah Al-An'am

Arabic text

وَكَيْفَ أَخَافُ مَآ أَشْرَكْتُمْ وَلَا تَخَافُونَ أَنَّكُمْ أَشْرَكْتُم بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلْطَـٰنًا ۚ فَأَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِٱلْأَمْنِ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

Translation

"How can I fear that which you associate as partners (to Allaah, which can neither do good not harm) when you do not fear (the punishment that will afflict you because of the fact) that you ascribe such partners to Allaah, regarding whom He has not revealed any permission (authority) to you (to worship them)? So which of the two groups (you or we) are more worthy of safety (from punishment) if you have knowledge?" (If you have any knowledge, you would know that we are safe from Allaah's punishment because of our beliefs. You should therefore be following us.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وكيف أخاف أوثانكم وأنتم لا تخافون ربي الذي خلقكم، وخلق أوثانكم التي أشركتموها معه في العبادة، من غير حجة لكم على ذلك؟ فأي الفريقين: فريق المشركين وفريق الموحدين أحق بالطمأنينة والسلامة والأمن من عذاب الله؟ إن كنتم تعلمون صدق ما أقول فأخبروني.
