The Holy Quran 6:19 — Surah Al-An'am

Arabic text

قُلْ أَىُّ شَىْءٍ أَكْبَرُ شَهَـٰدَةً ۖ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ ۖ شَهِيدٌۢ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۚ وَأُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لِأُنذِرَكُم بِهِۦ وَمَنۢ بَلَغَ ۚ أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً أُخْرَىٰ ۚ قُل لَّآ أَشْهَدُ ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَـٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ وَإِنَّنِى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ

Translation

Say (O Rasulullaah), "What thing offers the greatest testimony (to the truth of Rasulullaah and Islaam)?" Say, "Allaah (offers the greatest testimony)! He is the Witness between myself and yourselves. This Qur'aan has been revealed to me so that I may warn you with it as well as (to warn) those whom it reaches (after you). Do you (Mushrikeen) really bear witness that there are other gods with Allaah?" Say (to them O Rasulullaah), "I bear no such witness." Say, "He (Allaah) is but One Ilaah and I am certainly (extremely) innocent of that (the idols) which you associate with Him (I openly express my aversion to all types of Shirk)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قل -أيها الرسول لهؤلاء المشركين-: أيُّ شيء أعظم شهادة في إثبات صدقي فيما أخبرتكم به أني رسول الله؟ قل: الله شهيد بيني وبينكم أي: هو العالم بما جئتكم به وما أنتم قائلونه لي، وأوحى الله إليَّ هذا القرآن مِن أجل أن أنذركم به عذابه أن يحلَّ بكم، وأنذر به مَن وصل إليه من الأمم. إنكم لتقرون أن مع الله معبودات أخرى تشركونها به.
