The Holy Quran 6:144 — Surah Al-An'am

Arabic text

وَمِنَ ٱلْإِبِلِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ ٱلْبَقَرِ ٱثْنَيْنِ ۗ قُلْ ءَآلذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا ٱشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ ۖ أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَآءَ إِذْ وَصَّىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِهَـٰذَا ۚ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا لِّيُضِلَّ ٱلنَّاسَ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Translation

(Allaah has also created) Two (a male and female) from cattle and two from camels. Say (to the Mushrikeen), "Has Allaah forbidden both males (from cattle and from camels) or both females, or the child that is contained in the bellies of both females? Were you present when Allaah commanded you to do this (to declare certain animals forbidden)?" Who can be more unjust than he who invents (forges) a lie about Allaah (by saying that Allaah commanded this) to lead people astray without any knowledge. Verily Allaah does not guide unjust (wrongdoing) people.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

والأصناف الأربعة الأخرى: هي اثنان من الإبل ذكورًا وإناثًا، واثنان من البقر ذكورًا وإناثًا. قل -أيها الرسول- لأولئك المشركين: أحَرَّم الله الذكرين أم الأنثيين؟ أم حرَّم ما اشتملت عليه أرحام الأنثيين ذكورًا وإناثًا؟ أم كنتم أيها المشركون حاضرين، إذ وصاكم الله بهذا التحريم للأنعام، فلا أحد أشد ظلمًا ممن اختلق على الله الكذب; ليصرف الناس بجهله عن طريق الهدى.
