The Holy Quran 67:10 — Surah Al-Mulk

Arabic text

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِىٓ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

Translation

They will also say, “If we had listened (to the warnings of the Ambiyaa عليهم الصلاة والسلام) or understood (made an effort to understand what the Ambiyaa عليهم الصلاة والسلام told us), we would not be among the inmates (dwellers) of the Blaze."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقالوا معترفين: لو كنا نسمع سماع مَن يطلب الحق، أو نفكر فيما نُدْعى إليه، ما كنا في عداد أهل النار.
