The Holy Quran 5:59 — Surah Al-Ma'idah

Arabic text

قُلْ يَـٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ هَلْ تَنقِمُونَ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلُ وَأَنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ فَـٰسِقُونَ

Translation

Say, "O people of the Book! Do you hate us only because we believe in Allaah, in what has been revealed to us and in what has been revealed before (us to the previous Ambiyaa), and because most of you are (disobedient) sinners?" (If these be the reasons for hating us, they are no reasons at all because these actions are good, as are those who carry them out.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قل -أيها الرسول- لهؤلاء المستهزئين من أهل الكتاب: ما تَجِدُونه مطعنًا أو عيبًا هو محمدة لنا: من إيماننا بالله وكتبه المنزلة علينا، وعلى من كان قبلنا، وإيماننا بأن أكثركم خارجون عن الطريق المستقيم!
