The Holy Quran 5:21 — Surah Al-Ma'idah

Arabic text

يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْأَرْضَ ٱلْمُقَدَّسَةَ ٱلَّتِى كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَرْتَدُّوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَدْبَارِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَـٰسِرِينَ

Translation

“O my people, enter the holy land (your homeland) that Allaah has decreed for you (that He has commanded you to enter) and do not turn back on your heels (by refusing to wage Jihaad on the people living there because of your cowardice), for then you will become losers."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا قوم ادخلوا الأرض المقدسة -أي المطهرة، وهي «بيت المقدس» وما حولها- التي وعد الله أن تدخلوها وتقاتلوا مَن فيها من الكفار، ولا ترجعوا عن قتال الجبارين، فتخسروا خير الدنيا وخير الآخرة.
