The Holy Quran 58:22 — Surah Al-Mujadila

Arabic text

لَّا تَجِدُ قَوْمًا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ يُوَآدُّونَ مَنْ حَآدَّ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَلَوْ كَانُوٓا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ أَوْ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ أَوْ إِخْوَٰنَهُمْ أَوْ عَشِيرَتَهُمْ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ كَتَبَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ وَأَيَّدَهُم بِرُوحٍ مِّنْهُ ۖ وَيُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ رَضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ حِزْبُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ أَلَآ إِنَّ حِزْبَ ٱللَّهِ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

Translation

You will not find people who believe in Allaah and the Last Day befriending those who oppose Allaah and His Rasool ﷺ even though they (those who oppose Allaah and Rasulullaah ﷺ) are their fathers, their sons, their brothers or their families. These (Mu'mineen who do not associate with their relatives who oppose Allaah and Rasulullaah ﷺ) are the people in whose hearts Allaah has written (entrenched and strengthened) Imaan and whom Allaah assists with His mercy (with spirtual life). Allaah shall enter them into Jannaat beneath which rivers flow where they shall live forever. Allaah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. They are the group of Allaah. Behold! The group of Allaah shall be the only successful ones. (This verse refers specifically to the Sahabah رضي الله تعالى عنهم and thereafter to all other Mu'mineen.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

لا تجد -أيها الرسول- قومًا يصدِّقون بالله واليوم الآخر، ويعملون بما شرع الله لهم، يحبون ويوالون مَن عادى الله ورسوله وخالف أمرهما، ولو كانوا آباءهم أو أبناءهم أو إخوانهم أو أقرباءهم، أولئك الموالون في الله والمعادون فيه ثَبَّتَ في قلوبهم الإيمان، وقوَّاهم بنصر منه وتأييد على عدوهم في الدنيا، ويدخلهم في الآخرة جنات تجري من تحت قصورها وأشجارها الأنهار، ماكثين…
