The Holy Quran 4:37 — Surah An-Nisa

Arabic text

ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ وَيَأْمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلْبُخْلِ وَيَكْتُمُونَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ ۗ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا

Translation

Those (Jews) who are miserly, who instruct others to be miserly and who conceal what (knowledge about the truthfulness of Rasulullaah ﷺ and spending wealth in the path of Allaah) Allaah had given them through His bounty (such people shall suffer terribly). We have prepared for the Kaafiroon a disgracing punishment.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

الذين يمتنعون عن الإنفاق والعطاء مما رزقهم الله، ويأمرون غيرهم بالبخل، ويجحدون نِعَمَ الله عليهم، ويخفون فضله وعطاءه. وأعددنا للجاحدين عذابًا مخزيًا.
