The Holy Quran 46:34 — Surah Al-Ahqaf

Arabic text

وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَـٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا ۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

Translation

(Do not forget) The day when the Kuffaar will be presented before the Fire. (They will then be asked,) "Is this (resurrection and Jahannam) not the truth (which you used to deny)?" They will reply, "Certainly, by the oath of our Rabb!" Allaah will say, "So taste the punishment because you used to commit kufr (taste what you used to deny)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ويوم القيامة يُعْرَض الذين كفروا على نار جهنم للعذاب فيقال لهم: أليس هذا العذاب بالحق؟ فيجيبون قائلين: بلى وربنا هو الحق، فيقال لهم: فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تجحدون عذاب النار وتنكرونه في الدنيا.
