The Holy Quran 45:32 — Surah Al-Jathiyah

Arabic text

وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِى مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ

Translation

"When it was said that Allaah's promise is true and that there is no doubt in (the advent of) Qiyaamah, you people used to say, 'We do not know what Qiyaamah is. We merely give it a passing (hasty) thought but have never been convinced (sure) about it."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإذا قيل لكم: إن وعد الله ببعث الناس من قبورهم حق، والساعة لا شك فيها، قلتم: ما ندري ما الساعة؟ وما نتوقع وقوعها إلا توهمًا، وما نحن بمتحققين أن الساعة آتية.
