The Holy Quran 45:28 — Surah Al-Jathiyah

Arabic text

وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً ۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ كِتَـٰبِهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

Translation

(On the Day of Qiyaamah,) You will see every nation kneeling (to plead for mercy out of terror and awe) and every nation will be called towards their Book (the records of their actions). (They will then be told,) "Today you will be recompensed for what you did (in the world)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وترى -أيها الرسول- يوم تقوم الساعة أهل كل ملة ودين جاثمين على رُكَبهم، كل أمة تُدْعى إلى كتاب أعمالها، ويقال لهم: اليوم تُجزون ما كنتم تعملون من خير أو شر.
