The Holy Quran 43:31 — Surah Az-Zukhruf

Arabic text

وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنَ ٱلْقَرْيَتَيْنِ عَظِيمٍ

Translation

(Instead of accepting the Qur'aan,) They say, "(Instead of being revealed to Rasulullaah ﷺ,) Why is this Qur'aan not revealed to a prominent (important) man from one of the two cities (Makkah or Taa'if)?"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقال هؤلاء المشركون مِن قريش: إنْ كان هذا القرآن مِن عند الله حقًا، فهلا نُزِّل على رجل عظيم من إحدى هاتين القريتين «مكة» أو «الطائف» .
