The Holy Quran 42:44 — Surah Ash-Shuraa

Arabic text

وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن وَلِىٍّ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ ۗ وَتَرَى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ يَقُولُونَ هَلْ إِلَىٰ مَرَدٍّ مِّن سَبِيلٍ

Translation

After Allaah, there can be no Protecting Friend for the one whom Allaah allows to stray (from the path of Islaam). When they witness the punishment, you will see the oppressors (the Kuffaar) crying, “Is there any road to escape?" (Is there any way to go back?)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ومن يضلله الله عن الرشاد بسبب ظلمه فليس له من ناصر يهديه سبيل الرشاد. وترى -أيها الرسول- الكافرين بالله يوم القيامة -حين رأوا العذاب- يقولون لربهم: هل لنا من سبيل إلى الرجوع إلى الدنيا؛ لنعمل بطاعتك؟ فلا يجابون إلى ذلك.
