The Holy Quran 41:48 — Surah Fussilat

Arabic text

وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَدْعُونَ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَظَنُّوا۟ مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٍ

Translation

Those (gods) that they used to call upon (worship) will be lost to them (unable to assist them) and they will be convinced (understand) that they have no escape (asylum).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وذهب عن هؤلاء المشركين شركاؤهم الذين كانوا يعبدونهم من دون الله، فلم ينفعوهم، وأيقنوا أن لا ملجأ لهم من عذاب الله، ولا محيد عنه.
