The Holy Quran 41:15 — Surah Fussilat

Arabic text

فَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا۟ مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً ۖ أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ

Translation

As for the Aad, they were arrogant (proud) on earth without reason, and said, "Who can be more powerful than us?" Did they not see that Allaah Who had created them is more powerful than them? They also rejected (denied) Our Aayaat (orders).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فأما عاد قوم هود فقد استعلَوا في الأرض على العباد بغير حق، وقالوا في غرور: مَن أشد منا قوة؟ أو لم يروا أن الله تعالى الذي خلقهم هو أشدُّ منهم قوة وبطشًا؟ وكانوا بأدلتنا وحججنا يجحدون.
