The Holy Quran 40:20 — Surah Ghafir

Arabic text

وَٱللَّهُ يَقْضِى بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَقْضُونَ بِشَىْءٍ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ

Translation

Allaah passes judgement with justice (because He is The Most Just). Those (gods) that they (the Mushrikeen) worship besides Allaah cannot pass judgement in any affair (because they have no powers). Verily, only Allaah is the All Hearing, the All Seeing (and therefore Only He is capable of passing sound judgement).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

والله سبحانه يقضي بين الناس بالعدل فيما يستحقونه، والذين يُعبدون من دون الله من الآلهة لا يقضون بشيء؛ لعجزهم عن ذلك. إن الله هو السميع لأقوال خلقه، البصير بأفعالهم وأعمالهم، وسيجازيهم عليها.
